The Vedanta Centre welcomes you to an abode of peace and….

Visitors are welcome to do private mediation at the shrine hall and walk quietly around the Centre grounds. 

Daily Schedule

  • Morning Arati and Meditation: Everyday 6:30am – 7:15am
  • Evening Vesper Service (Aratrikam), Devotional songs and Meditation: Everyday 6.30pm – 7.30pm
  • Please note the Centre is closed between 12.30pm – 4.30pm daily

Protocol/dress code

  • Wear modest dress appropriate for a holy place
  • Keep shoes in the shoe-room
  • Please maintain silence in the temple hall
  • Switch-off your mobile phone in the temple
  • Offerings are to be kept at the designated places in the temple
  • Please follow hand hygiene norms
  • Postpone your visit if you are feeling unwell
  • Conduct yourself in a manner conforming to the purity of the temple
  • Parents shall supervise children at all times and ensure that children do not cause any disturbance or damage to the premises
  • Smoking and alcohol strictly prohibited

Lunch

Lunch is available for purchase on Saturdays from the onsite cafe Maa Sarada’s Kitchen from 10am to 1pm. Please note the cafe only operates on Saturdays. Prior booking is not required and the cafe accepts cash and EFTPOS. Dine-in and takeaway service available.

You can meet the resident monks as per their availability. Also there are plenty of resources and books available in the library.

If you wish to drop off groceries you can drive down to the kitchen (park the car outside the cafe entrance at the lower ground floor).

No, the Vedanta Centre is welcoming of everyone regardless of your race, religion or identity. We strictly request all visitors to be respectful of others and to abide by the Centres protocols.

Visitors are welcome to do private mediation at the shrine hall and walk quietly around the Centre grounds. Restricted areas that are not open to visitors are marked with ‘No Entry’. Areas open to visitors are: Main Shrine, Library, Cafe, Lower Ground Hall, Mandala Garden, Natives Orchard and Viewing Deck.

There are limited guest rooms at the Centre. The guest accommodation is exclusively for devotees of Sri Ramakrishna for short stays of three days/nights to absorb the spiritual presence and to contemplate on the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda. Guests are expected to offer at least 2 hours daily of physical seva as part of their stay which includes cleaning, gardening, cooking. There is a minimum charge of $50 per person per night for guests’ stay.
